Homeowners Get More Long Term Help

From Tami Luhby at CNNMoney: More Borrowers Get Long-Term Help

Intense pressure from the Obama administration spurred loan servicers to ramp up the amount of permanent modifications.

Under the president's foreclosure plan the number of completed long terms adjustments rose to 66,465 at the end of December.

Another 46,056 modifications are pending borrowers signatures.

The number of delinquent homeowners in trial modifications rose to 787, 231, up from 697,026 a month earlier.

"Treasury is committed to working with servicers and borrowers to sustain this improved pace," Phyllis Caldwell, chief of Treasury's Homeownership Preservation Office.

This isn't coming soon enough. I know so many people that if they were able to get a loan modification things would be much better and would stop the foreclosure crisis.
