Joshua Persky is a perfect example of how to bail yourself out with no help from the government. Joshua was an out of work banker who hit the Manhattan streets wearing a sign advertising "MIT grad for hire."
Joshua was hired last week by the Manhattan firm Weiser LLP. Almost a year after he was laid off and six months since he started handing out his resume' to passer byers on Park Ave.
"It took longer than I expected," Joshua said.
He had gotten several job interviews during his weeks of being a walking classified add. The problem was when Bear Sterns collapsed people just stopped hiring. Joshua decided to set up a blog to document his experience. His blog was read by a headhunter who brought it to the attention of Weiser.
He posted the happy news on his blog and got kudos from around the world.
Joshua says, " There is all this holiday spirit around me, all these holiday parties, and I've got such a lot to be grateful for myself. It's like I'm celebrating twice this year."
Whether you say you can or you can't either way you are right. There is always a way. You just need to find your path and go for it.
