I've Been Scrapped

STOPPING SCRAPPING MY BLOG! Linking to Financial Elite is always allowed of course. We don't mind having excerpts taken from our articles as long as you give credit where credit is due and maybe have a comment or two about what we've discussed, but directly stealing content and posting it on another site in order to make money is not cool.

Scrapping is when a hacker crawls and steals your content. Every time you publish a post the crawl takes the article from your RSS feed and posts it on the scrappers website.

The reason for this is either they are too lazy to come up with their own content or are just not smart enough to have an intelligent conversation, but the main reason is to make money.

The scrapper looks for keywords on your site in hopes to index higher on Google or other search engines. The thing that sucks is the scrapper could very well index higher than your own site!

My first scrap with scrapping seems to be handled as it looks like Google has removed them from their index. I had to report the site before that happened though.

One good thing about the experience is I found another blog that had been scrapped and notified them as to the goings on. They reported the crooks as well and seems our combined efforts have worked.

I have to say thanks to FIRE Finance for their help with this scrapping problem.
