Good Things Come to Those Who Exchange: Black Friday Kudo's to Kohl's and Party City

Day 332 of My Financial Freedom Countdown

I recently discussed how things have begun to be extremely prosperous for my wife and I lately. Business has been booming, which has meant more money for us, and our debt continues to really get a dent knocked into it. So we decided to look at putting the surplus we have been having lately towards our debt and maybe getting us something that we need. We decide our need was pots and pans.

On Black Friday my wife headed over to Kohl's at 3:00 in the morning and purchased a Rachel Ray cookware set, which was on sale for Black Friday, by the way, and my wife also used a $10 off coupon. For the purchase my wife was given $40 in Kohl's dollars. Well, it turns out my wife's Mom had bought us a new set of pots and pans for Christmas too. So we decided to take back the set. The cool thing was not only did Kohl's let my wife wife keep the $40 in Kohl's dollars, but gave her a $10 gift card to replace the coupon my wife used to buy the set originally. How sweet is that?

Also this week, our daughters first birthday is coming up, which my wife has been diligently putting together, and we've been buying party supplies. In a moment of pure money saving genius, my wife got the idea of returning the unused knapkins from my birthday a couple of months ago as well as, plates and knapkins left over from Christmas a couple of years ago. Kudo's to Party City for taking all that back and exchanging it for the new stuff. Things are good.

Tell us about money saving ideas.
